It's the wrong season to be craving submergance in the sea, but how I'd love to spend every day by the water if I could. These stunning photographs by Deb Schwedhelm of her children that I recently stumbled across really capture the both powerful and soothing feeling of the ocean. There's nothing so lovely as floating on top of the water and then equally so frightening when you realize you're out of your depth and utterly alone. In Deb Schwedhelm's own words, "The images in this series aren’t forced or posed; instead, each is it’s own revelation – a milepost on an unexpected voyage to an unknowable destination. While the making of these photographs in the water is often chaotic, I am simultaneously offered a sense of home, comfort and peace."
