My first thought with a brocade dress like this is usually a party--something fancy and perhaps simple (gold shoes, some sort of cardigan/shawl to keep you warm, etc). However, after numerous viewings of the Carven Fall 2012 collection I decided to style this a little more school uniform/properish. You can't see the full tulip-shape of the skirt too well because my cardigan is a bit long, but I love the way the layers downplay the luxe fabric.
